Cox Elementary PTA and Cox Elementary have earned the designation three times running, every program year since 2023, and we are at work on 2026-2028 right now.

A full program year earned it: Cox Elementary PTA and Cox Elementary listened to families, built an Excellence Action Plan with the school, carried it out, and measured the difference. National PTA recognized that partnership with the 2025-2027 designation, announced in August.

The Road to 2026-2028

A year-long National PTA program in five steps: the PTA listens to families, builds an Excellence Action Plan with the school, puts it to work, measures the difference, and earns a two-year national designation.

National PTA School of Excellence program steps: May to October enroll and get started; September to November gather and analyze community feedback; the school year build an Excellence Action Plan and check back with your community; March to June reflect on and summarize your progress; August celebrate your excellence.
Where we are Step 2, Gather and Analyze Community Feedback. Families, teachers and administrators take the Community Feedback Survey; the results and our first goals go to National PTA by December 15.
