Book Fair (Now a School Fundraiser)
Assist the Cox Librarian in the coordination of volunteers, ensuring a smooth setup and takedown process while also providing support during the event throughout the day to enhance the overall experience for all participants.

Spring Festival & Silent Auction (GIVEBACK)
An annual event and one of our biggest fundraisers, you’ll be responsible for coordinating with volunteers to help set up the event, book vendors (food trucks, bouncy house, etc.) and help coordinate items for the silent auction. Sign-ups for pre-event sale of wristbands and team needed on the day. A committee of volunteers will work with you.

Garden Club (GIVEBACK)
Oversees the care and maintenance of the school’s garden spaces, including the center atrium gardens, front planters, and other designated areas. Responsibilities include coordinating volunteers for regular watering and upkeep, organizing the annual Spring Garden Party, and leading the school beautification event at the beginning of the year. This role ensures that the gardens remain vibrant, welcoming, and educational spaces for the school community.

Homecoming Parade Float (GIVEBACK)
Liaise with Robin Klepper (5th-grade teacher) to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed to participate in the event. Liaise with school administration to ensure the participation form goes out for parents to sign allowing children to participate in the float. No children are allowed to throw candy – adult volunteers are needed.

Holiday Shop (FUNDRAISER)
Penguin Patch Holiday Shop is a perfectly blended week of fun and function for our Comets. You will set up the merchandise and replenish with orders during the day. The program is all about teaching Students to shop for their family and work within a budget. It’s a heartwarming and unforgettable experience for our students that runs the entire week. Open before and after school giving everyone a chance to shop. We decorate with a fun theme, set up a day before we open.

Hospitality (GIVEBACK)
The Hospitality chair coordinates efforts with various committee members and other donors in order to promote a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at PTA programs/meeting as well as teacher/staff appreciation events throughout the year (open house, teacher meeting, PTA meetings, soup for the soul, reflections showcase, family nights, teacher and staff appreciation weeks, etc.).

Kids First (PTA PROGRAM)
A wonderful PTA program that contains several hands-on stations to help build a culture of understanding and acceptance on campus. The current Kids First program offers the following stations: Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Dyslexia, Speech/Language Impairment, Visual Impairment. Program runs for 2nd-5th Grade for a week during Specials. Dates TBD by school.

Kinder Celebration/5th Grade Graduation (GIVEBACK)
Coordinating with 5th Grade and Kindergarten teachers, this role helps organize the balloon arches and stage set up for this special day the day before. Chairs (ordered by the school) are all set up the day before. 5th Graders get cupcakes and special setup depending on what is required.

LISD Clothes Closet (COMMUNITY SERVICE)
The LISD Council of PTAs operates the Clothes Closet – a store that provides LISD students in need of assistance with free school appropriate clothing. You are responsible for helping recruit volunteers on our scheduled days as well as organize the Lost and Found. Organizing the lost and found means checking the rail for garments with names in them, picking up any items lying around the school and keeping the rail in order. We usually will move the rail to the front foyer for events when parents are coming in and out like classroom parties etc. At the end of every month or 9 week period – depending on your schedule, clothes not claimed will need to be washed and donated to the LISD Clothes Closet.
Part of this role is also organizing a sock and underwear drive (once a year) for items most needed.

Math Pentathlon (PTA PROGRAM)
A time-tested Program of interactive problem-solving games, supportive curricular and instructional activities, and assessment tools for students in grades K-7. This motivational Program strengthens math concepts and skills, and aligns with National and State Mathematics Standards. We have three Divisions and need parent volunteers to help coach this after school program. Competitions are held at Reagan Elementary.

PTA Reflections (PTA PROGRAM)
This chair follows the National PTA Reflections theme for the year and coordinates a competition among students for entry of an art item that fits the theme. The chair is responsible for all aspects of communicating the program to the students, collecting applications, gathering reviewers to judge the entries, sending advanced entries to the LISD Council, and hosting the award ceremony at the school level.

Spirit Wear (FUNDRAISER)
The Spirit Wear Chair will negotiate with vendors to establish the cheapest t-shirt price available. They will select two t-shirt designs from vendors and will also advertise the t-shirts selected by distributing spirit wear flyers/order forms to classrooms. We use our school colors and logo.
James at Rocksports in Round Rock is a local printer and gives us great discounts and sponsorship – alternatively we have used Candy Ink online.

Spirit Night (FUNDRAISER)
The Spirit Night Chair will work on establishing designated spirit nights with selected restaurant(s), as approved by the PTA Board once every month. They advertise the spirit nights and coordinate payment. Fundraiser request form must be completed and approved before the event.

All year – depending on your schedule, one hour a month.
S.T.E.M & family Night (GIVE BACK)
Liaise with local vendors to come in and join our fun family night at the school. Event is usually from 5:30-7pm. Would help coordinate set up and also invite team leads (teachers) to see if they would be interested in joining.

Depending on school we would usually host two events that coordinate with Book Fair – Fall / Spring. One night. Organizing vendors – remote role.
Trunk or Treat (COMMUNITY GIVEBACK)
The Chair helps coordinate and organize our annual Trunk or Treat, with local vendors, collecting candy during the month of October in the ‘cauldron’ outside the Library and organizing sign ups for car spots, food trucks, face painters etc. This is a super fun community event that usually has a turnout of around 500 people.

Volunteer-Room Parent coordinator
The Room Parent Coordinator provides a crucial link between the Room Parents, the PTA board, and the Volunteer Coordinator. Works closely with the President to ensure good communication.
The Volunteer Coordinator recruits and organizes volunteers for all PTA sponsored and school events and works closely with the school principal, various PTA committee chairs, and Room Parent Coordinator.

All-year – remote roles can be done in the evenings.
You've Been Booed (FUNDRAISER)
This is an annual fundraising event for 5th Grade graduation and has become a very much loved event. Family and friends can sponsor a 5th Grader to have their front yard ‘booed’ with little ghosts and receive a small gift for $25. Ghosts stay up for 24 hours, and are usually placed in the yard during the morning to surprise them when they get home from school. Depending on the amount of sign ups, we usually have two people helping.

Webmaster
The Chair works with various committee chairs, board members, and school personnel in order to maintain the Volunteer/PTA website with up to date information as well as communicate with school volunteers and PTA membership when needed. Update teacher favorite at the beginning of the year and maintain any staff changes.
